To Go Denim or Not?

Denim.Denim.Denim. I have been trying my hardest to match denim with denim. Inspired by celebrities such as Beyonce and Zendaya, I attempted to match my favorite jean jacket with a lighter jean color. I read a bunch of bad reviews about using denim with denim, but don't let that discourage you! I find it okay to wear both materials together, but my rule is either they are identical to each other or opposite and finding a top that will balance the two jeans. Plus you can never go wrong with a jean jacket! Here are some pictures of my intention of wearing denim on denim.

Boyfriend Jeans

I am completely OBSESSED with my new boyfriend jeans. After searching for about a month, I finally found a pair that fit my body just right. I literally went to every store possible. Top Shop, Gap, Forever 21, Holister, Urban Outfitters, Zara just to name a few. My search ended at Zara. Out of all the places I went to my top three stores were Zara, Gap, and Top Shop. I also love my new Steve Madden sandals. You can never have to many shoes! They are called Greenie and are extremely comfortable and inexpensive.

Ayla In DR

My first time visiting Dominican Republic and it proved to be an unforgettable weekend! Along with my boyfriend and close friends we ventured and took over La Romana. Unfortunately it did rain two out of the five days we stayed, but this didn't stop us from emptying out all the buffets and bars at this all inclusive resort. Yes you heard right ALL INCLUSIVE! The Resort was beautiful, we stayed at Viva La Whyndham Dominicus Beach. The service was okay but the resort was filled with great food, shows, activities, and endless parties. If you have never stayed at an all inclusive resort, start thinking about it. Much like a cruise you have open buffets during breakfast, lunch, and dinner or you could make reservations to eat at one of their many themed restaurants. Words can’t explain how much fun I had, if you’re interested in booking you can easily find a list of resorts on expedia.com. 

So of course you can't go to the beach with out bathing suits and cover ups! I wanted to stay within a budget so I choose to mix and match. In the picture below my top is from Victoria Secret and my bottoms are from Target.

First Week Interning at Blink PR

This week I began my internship at Blink PR in Hallandale Beach, Florida. I've never thought that I could become any more obsessed with my career path than I already am. I always knew I wanted to study public relations, but it wasn't until a couple years ago when I decided I wanted to lean towards Fashion PR. Freshman year of college I applied to work at a Fashion PR firm in Miami Beach, but I never received a response. This year it all changed, and I am now working for one of Miami's best Fashion PR firms! What are my responsibilities as an intern? Well for starters I, along with four other girls, deal with the social media accounts for the firms clients. However, I need too have all the interns email their social media screenshots, at the end of the week, to me so I can send them to our office manager. I also was given other responsibilities during the week such as categorize and give a quantity of two boxes full of bathing suits, run errands for my superiors, and the most exciting participate in Miami Fashion Week. Yesterday, May 15, was the kick off to Miami Fashion Week. The weather in Miami was horrible, it rained all day which made my tasks difficult! I had to go pick up our client, Sarah Charness, who was the violinist who was opening our other client Fashion Designer,  Julian Chang's show. She is amazingly talented as well as a kind person. I later helped Julian Chang, who is so kind and very talented, dress models, organize shoes, align the models and the fun part help him get press. I learned so much yesterday from fashion to hair and makeup to what Public Relations is and I am truly blessed to have been able to participate in such a huge event in Miami. Mothers Day Outfit!

I hope you all had an amazing Mothers Day and that your mommys felt happy and blessed on their day. My Mother's Day plans included a weekend stay at the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne and a lovely brunch at Juvia in Miami Beach. Juvia is a Japanese Peruvian restaurant located on Lincoln Road. The view was breathtaking, you were able to see all of Miami Beach! Everything was perfect and my mother definitely felt like a queen. Below are some pictures of my Mother's Day weekend!

May Is My Favorite Month

Oh how I love spring! Although living in Miami makes it difficult to appreciate the change in seasons, I still admire spring. In honor of May being my favorite month and it being "Throwback Thursday", I shared below one my spring outfits inspired by the picture above. Floral is my favorite design to wear in spring, not only is it beautiful but it's a symbol of love and peace. I always wear what I feel comfortable in as well as what suits my body type. These details are important to remember when searching for the perfect outfit. Women embrace those curves, and if you don't have curves still work with what you were blessed with. My fashion goals this spring is to take more risk matching patterns with colors and use more clutches instead of huge handbags, which are my obsession.
